STAT21 - Success Through Assessment & Technology

My name is Nancy Weidenbach and this is my first year of teaching 7th grade computers at Harrisburg Middle School. Previous to teaching computers, I taught 6th grade math for 5 years, and spent 10 years teaching 5th grade in a self contatined classroom.

I have 4 sections of 7th graders and keep the students for a semester at a time. This year we worked on keyboarding, the basics of the Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Movie Maker, and other software and Internet related activities. I strive to try to integrate projects that the students complete for me to the content standards and curriculum that they are learning about in their other classes.

This wiki will act as my ePortfolio for my Action Research Project. As part of the STAT 21 grant, I am interested in examining my data to see in which areas my students have historically had trouble. I am excited to use 21st Century Skills to motivate my students and improve student achievement. I know that linking technology to content standards and to solid research based strategies will make my new lesson plans effective.
